Viareggio
From Spain, we flew into the Pisa airport, then took a bus to Viareggio, Italy. We decided to have a nice relaxing last few days of our adventure before getting to our final destination in Florence.
Viareggio is a small town on the coast of Italy where people come to vacation and retire, basically like the Florida of Europe. It was the perfect place to take a break because being by the water allowed the weather to be much more tolerable.
We spent most of our time just enjoying ourselves on the beach, getting our tans on, and overloading on pasta.
One day we took a nice bike ride to Forte dei Marmi, another popular beach town.
Something funny we noticed was that you weren't allowed to swim in the pool without a swimming cap. At first we thought people were just trying to rock a vintage look, but upon our first attempt at entering the pool, we were quickly made aware that it is actually required.
After a wonderful 6 days, we were all packed up and ready for Florence!
